  • Store in a cool and dry place.
  • Keep away from direct sunlight.
  • Use dark-colored glass containers such as amber or cobalt blue bottles.
  • Ensure the cap is tightly closed after each use.

  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Refrigeration may be used if required.
  • Store away from strong-smelling chemicals and substances.

9. Shelf Life

Devdar Essential Oil generally has a shelf life of approximately 3 to 5 years when stored under recommended conditions. Due to its woody nature, the aroma may become deeper and more mature over time.

If the oil develops an unusual sour odor, appears significantly discolored, or shows signs of deterioration, it should not be used.

Proper storage helps maintain its aroma, quality, and effectiveness for an extended period.

10. Extraction Process

Steam Distillation Process

  1. The heartwood, roots, and inner trunk portions of the Devdar tree are cut into small pieces or wood chips.
  2. The material is thoroughly cleaned and loaded into a distillation tank.
  3. High-temperature steam is introduced into the tank.
  4. The steam carries the volatile aromatic compounds from the wood.
  5. The vapor mixture is transferred to a condenser for cooling.
  6. Upon cooling, the vapor converts back into liquid containing both water and essential oil.
  7. Since the oil is lighter than water, it naturally separates and floats on the surface.
  8. The oil is carefully separated from the water using a separator.
  9. The extracted oil is filtered and purified.
  10. Finally, the oil is packed in dark glass containers and stored under controlled conditions to preserve its quality.
